I think most of us agree that masculine cards can be, well, challenging. I know I have to take a step back when creating masculine cards, but with these great images from Sparkle N Sprinkle, it's so easy. My first card, while incorporating LOTS of glitter, is definitely on the right track. This image is part of one of several Stained Glass sets aptly named Sailboat. While the colors are bright and sunny, it still evokes that masculine touch, don't you think? If you've never done the stained glass look with glitter, take a closer look at this card. Simply stamping on acetate with Staz-On ink, then "coloring" in the back side with Brushable Glue and different glitters will give you this stunning effect. Sponging on yellow and orange inks to the card front keep the sunny theme going. I tied it up in a neat little package with a wave die and scallop oval die.
And the next card is quite opposite in its color and feel. But what Dad, hubby, boyfriend, etc. wouldn't be pleased with the sentiment alone on this next card! Using images from several new music sets here, simple embossing with black detail EP completes this look. Red mirror card stock gives it the bling.
And now for the fun part! If you leave a comment on my blog, I will be giving away one of the glitters in the Sailboat card above. This is one of my favorite glitters (not true -- I love them all!) called Autumn Medley. Once you've left your comment then you'll definitely want to hop on over to Barb's blog to see what great surprises she has in store for you. Good luck to all and thanks for dropping by!
Ciao for now.
Ciao Bella!

Thanks for making great cards for the blog hop, DeeDee!
I love that stained glass effect! And your waves set it off beautifully! But the music one is my favorite (duh) and I LOVE that red paper. Kudos~!
Love that sailboat and it was a classy touch to add the waves. And, I love the detail you put into the musical card. Great job!

Both are so very nice! Love the musical theme
Terrific, Donna! Love all the glitter and shine. The stained glass is beautiful and glittery and I love the red mirror c/s on the music card. Great job!
Donna, those are magnificent. I especially love the sailboat one. I have that image but always had problems with the water, but I love how you added a little white with the waves. It is perfect!
Wow! What an amazing card!
Beautiful cards ... love the music one especially and will probably case it for my DD - she loves to sing! The stained glass technique is totally awesome.
Love the stained glass technique with glitters but that red mirror CS on the music card just knocks my socks off! Not something I would have thought about for a masculine card without your fantastic inspiration! Thanks Dee.
love the sailboat and love the bling too!!
you have a great imagination and inspire so many ways to make things 'work' when putting a card together.
wonderful cards! both will make great gifts for a man
The ship is sailing in the bright sun and don't the guys go early to catch the sun on the water? Your second card is completely different from the first, but puts a song in ones heart!
Gotta pick the musical card, hands down. Music is a very important part of my husband's life (he sings in the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir), and he would love to receive a card like this. Beautiful artwork!
Gorgeous! I love the stained glass look you got with the first one!
I particularly like the stained glass sailboat in your first card. I really like the look of the scalloped oval & waves in that card as well.
Two fantastic cards! I love the stained glass technique. Using mirror cardstock for bling is brilliant.

Two fabulous cards! I am not sure which I like best. Love the stained glass technique for the sailboat with the scalloped frame and waves. The red mirror card stock with the black music note and black and white music is perfect. Love the way it pops.
I remember my first glittered sunset sailboat card from a class I took at SNS in Ruskin ~ I really like your take on that gorgeous stamp! And the musical notes card is so elegant with the reds and the blacks ~ great work!
I love the music card. My Father was very musical and passed some of it on to me. Can't wait to try making one similar. Thanks loads,
Candy Meyers

These are wonderful! I love the glitter and waves on the first card. You don't often think of music for a male card, but you did a great job on it!
I love red, white and black together.
